In 2021, nestled amongst the hills of a rural Welsh farming community, The Woollen Cwtch Company was officially launched.
It's purpose, to work in partnership with British farmers, supporting improved returns for their wool, agricultural charities, and events in rural communities.

Through time spent on local farms during lambing season and shearing, our founder, Eleanor Hunt, gained valuable understanding and experience into the depth of knowledge, skill and labour that British farmers contribute to the production of wool.

Taken aback by the low returns farmers were receiving for such an important natural resource, she began to research potential opportunities that were available for them to diversify with their wool clips and improve their returns.
It became clear that greater use and demand for their British grown wools was needed across a wider range of industries.
With a background in wool and traditional heritage crafts, Eleanor looked towards her own skills and knowledge to help address some of the barriers farmers face to diversifying with their own wool.

In the summer of 2021 The Woollen Cwtch Company was launched. Our first coffins were designed exclusively for babies and infants.

Since then we have further developed and refined the design of our signature woven wool and willow coffins. Our focus has always been on creating British Wool coffins that feel like warm, loving hugs. Our beautiful wool coffins are available in a range of different regional wools to resonate and connect with the people they are made for.
Our award winning, woven wool rope and willow designs became our signature style and are widely recognised today across both the funeral and farming industries.
Today we offer an ever growing range of British Wool coffins, shrouds and urns in different styles and finishes. We produce our own Welsh wool fabric and hand spun wool ropes made from locally sourced Epynt Hardy wool. We work with a range of regional wool fabrics, including Welsh doublecloth, clan tartans and the iconic wool cloth from Harris Tweed.

All of our British Wool coffins are fully accredited for use in cremation and burial throughout the UK.
Today, The Woollen Cwtch Company is proud to be working in partnership with British farmers and their communities. We invest our resources into creating new opportunities for their wool and improving their returns.
We contribute towards agricultural charities and fund raising activities.
The Woollen Cwtch Company are dedicated sponsors and supporters of shearing sports and world record attempts. You might spot our winners baskets in the shearing centre during the Royal Welsh Agricultural Show every year, which are woven using Welsh wool and British grown willow.
We strive to make British Wool funeral products an accessible option for as many people as possible. Our wool coffin pillows can be used with any coffin or shroud for burial and cremation. They are available in a range of regional wools, including our locally sourced Epynt wool. Our wool coffin pillows cost £10 (plus postage) and are always in stock.
